GLACIER
Reverb KM-08
Dense, smooth space, from a tight room to a frozen horizon.
AU · VST3 · macOS
What it does.
GLACIER is an algorithmic reverb with six algorithms: Hall, Plate, Room, Chamber, Ambient and Shimmer. Decay runs from a tenth of a second to thirty, and Freeze holds the tail for as long as you want.
The low end has its own decay multiplier and crossover, so long tails stay clear. Ducking pulls the reverb back while the source plays and lets it bloom in the gaps. Shape the room with Size, Diffusion, Early/Late and Damping, then place it with Modulation, the cuts and Width.

The same recording without and with GLACIER, set from SCAN and adjusted by ear. Switch while it plays; the position stays where it is.

What's inside.
Six algorithms
Hall, Plate, Room, Chamber, Ambient and Shimmer, all on a 16-line feedback network with modulated lines for a dense, smooth tail.
0.1 to 30 seconds
From a short room to an endless tail. Freeze holds the tail untouched until you let go.
Bass decay
Multiply the decay below a crossover you set between 50 Hz and 1 kHz, from 0.25× to 2.5×, so the lows can die early or ring long.
Tempo pre-delay
Free from 0 to 500 ms, or locked to a note value of the session tempo: straight, dotted or triplet.
Ducking
The reverb steps back while the source plays and returns in the gaps, from 0 to 100 %.
Shimmer
An octave up, a fifth up, or both, fed back into the tail for pads and transitions.
SCAN for GLACIER.
Play the part that needs space for about ten seconds. SCAN measures the take and proposes settings for Algorithm, Decay, Pre-delay, Damping, Low and high cut, Mix. Each move comes with the reason, in one line.
Apply it with one click, then trust your ears. It is a starting point an engineer would be happy to begin from.

- Low cut 180 Hz, damping 44 %, high cut 10 kHz
- Mix 29 %
