Mix Bus KM-15
The backbone of a mix.
AU · VST3 · macOS
What it does.
KEEL is a mix bus chain in four stages: a four-band dynamic EQ for tone, a VCA bus compressor for glue, tape color, and a stereo imager for width. The order is fixed the way an engineer would patch it, and each stage has its own on switch.
SCAN listens to the busiest part of the song. It balances the tone, sets the glue from the crest factor and the tempo, picks the tape speed, and opens the stereo field while keeping the low end centered.

Hear it.
The same recording without and with KEEL, set from SCAN and adjusted by ear. Switch while it plays; the position stays where it is.
The before-and-after examples are being recorded. They will appear here.
What's inside.
Tone
Four dynamic bands from the ISOTHERM engine: bell, shelves, cuts, tilt and Air, each able to move with the music.
Glue
The ANCHOR engine: stepped VCA bus compression with four ratios, Auto release, a sidechain high-pass, Console color and its own Mix for parallel glue.
Tape
Gentle program compression, tape saturation with record and playback emphasis, head bump, and 15 or 30 ips speed. Oversampled 2×.
Width in three bands
Width from 0 to 200 % for lows, mids and highs, with splits you set. The bands stay phase-coherent.
Mono below
A mono-maker for the low end from 40 to 300 Hz, with a click-free ramp, plus an M/S balance control.
Correlation and goniometer
A correlation meter and a goniometer show the stereo image while you work.
SCAN for KEEL.
Play the busiest part of the song for about fifteen seconds. SCAN measures the take and proposes settings for Tone, Glue, Tape, Width. Each move comes with the reason, in one line.
Apply it with one click, then trust your ears. It is a starting point an engineer would be happy to begin from.
Play the busiest part of the song for about fifteen seconds.

- Glue: sidechain HPF 90 Hz, Makeup +1.5 dB, Console 30 %
- Tape: 30 ips, drive 3.0 dB, compression 20 %
